As we await Thursday night …

1. Marcus Marshall got the start for the 81-yard touchdown pass, but Dedrick Mills played every series after that through the third quarter. The reasoning was pretty simple: “We didn’t see any reason to change it,” said quarterbacks and B-backs coach Bryan Cook. From Doug Roberson.

2. Georgia Tech had its first ACC player of the week winners this week, B-back Dedrick Mills and center Freddie Burden.

3. Offensive line coach Mike Sewak gave his appraisal of his three first-year freshman linemen, two of whom made their career debuts Saturday.

4. To get ready for Clemson’s up-tempo pace, Tech coaches use a different approach with their offensive scout team in practice.

5. The sons of Tech great Pat Swilling, both committed to play for the Jackets, were on campus last Saturday to take in the Vanderbilt game. From JuliaKate Culpepper.
